SUMMARY:The Spirit of America Concert at Seven Rivers Church
LOCATION:4221 W Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Join us for a spirited celebration of American music, heritage, and heart a
s the Nature Coast Community Band presents The Spirit of America. The after
noon opens with a stirring rendition of “Star-Spangled Banner (A Symphonic
Portrait)”, featuring vocal soloist Drema Leonard-Alan, followed by Robert
 W. Smith’s “American Flourish”, a vibrant tribute to early American musical
themes. From the charming countryside of Grainger’s “Country Gardens”, rei
magined in Sousa’s signature style, to the beloved melodies of “The Sound o
f Music”, the first half showcases the diversity of American-influenced sou
ndscapes.\n\nJazz legend Duke Ellington takes the spotlight in a lively con
cert medley, while “More Than You Know,” featuring Ms. Leonard-Alan once ag
ain, brings nostalgic romance to the stage. Rounding out the first half wit
h flair and fun is the crowd-pleasing “Y.M.C.A.”, arranged for band in an u
nforgettable twist.\n\nAfter intermission, the concert continues with the e
nergetic Americana of “White River Revival” and Sousa’s timeless “National
Game March.” We journey through Appalachian tradition in “Songs of Old Kent
ucky” and honor a songwriting icon in “Irving Berlin’s Songs for America.”
The program reaches its patriotic peak with Carmen Dragon’s lush setting of
“America, The Beautiful”, culminating in a heartfelt “Armed Services Medle
y” honoring the men and women of our military.\n\nFrom Broadway and jazz to
folk and national pride, this concert offers something for everyone—an upl
ifting musical tribute to the enduring American spirit.\n\nNCCB concerts ar
e always free, but donations are greatly appreciated at the door.
