Classical Preparatory School is a tuition-free public charter school that provides a traditional classical/liberal arts education to students in grades K-12th.
This model of public charter school education predominated in the past, and there has been a dramatic resurgence in the number of such schools in the last several years. So what is a classical, liberal arts education, and why is the model becoming so popular again?
The heart of classical education is the liberal arts curriculum. The word liberal derives from the Latin liber, meaning “free.” Our charter school education model reflects the education of freedom and a free person. It presents students with a rich and varied array of content and an introduction to the history of human thought and great ideas.
Great learning requires a great curriculum. In elementary and middle school, the curriculum is focused on mastery of the knowledge needed to proceed to higher-level learning. The specificity of the curriculum ensures consistency within each grade level and prevents gaps in content from year to year. Each level develops a shared base of knowledge from which to build future learning.
The specific content that students learn is just as purposefully chosen as the curriculum. Reading is not just for reading’s sake. What our children read is just as important as the time they spend reading.
Before and After School Care-
Early Care Program (Grades K-5 Only)-
Beginning Thursday, August 13, 2026, Classical Prep will bring back the Early Care Program at the Grammar School. If you are looking for assistance in getting your child(ren) to school a little earlier to get your day moving, this program is for you! Early Care will allow you to drop off your child(ren) 30 minutes early each day and bypass the morning car line. Space is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Only the first thirty children signed up will be allowed to participate. A waitlist will be taken for any changes that occur throughout the school year.
