Guided by our Board of Trustees and CEO, and fueled by the generosity of our donors, Cici and Hyatt Brown, we are reimagining our entire campus to create a more engaging, accessible, and inspiring experience for all. The vision? A unified campus, cutting-edge spaces, iconic architecture, and immersive new exhibits that reflect the richness of our community.

The Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum began as a community-driven effort to create a hands-on learning space where children could explore science, art, and history through play. Thanks to the generous support of Charles and Linda Williams, the children’s museum was established as a bright, playful wing of MOAS designed specifically for early learners and families. From its earliest days it has focused on sparking curiosity — encouraging kids to touch, tinker, and ask questions in a safe, welcoming environment.

Today the Children’s Museum remains a cornerstone of MOAS’s mission to inspire lifelong learning. The space blends the original spirit of discovery with modern, research-informed exhibit design: durable, accessible play zones; rotating, curriculum-linked exhibits; and outreach efforts that bring museum programming into local schools and community centers. Its impact is measured not just in attendance numbers but in the faces of families discovering something together for the first time — tiny hands tracing fossil shapes, or a child’s delighted gasp when a simple experiment “works.”

While the museum continues to grow and adapt, the core promise stays the same: to make learning joyful, inclusive, and playful. The Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum is a place where curiosity is honored, imagination is encouraged, and the next generation of explorers gets its start.
