One of six waterfront parks within the city limits, Liberty Park is located on Lake Henderson and is within walking distance from downtown. Liberty Park opened in 2002 as a city park and was renovated as part of the “Depot District” projects in 2019.
Located on the shores of Lake Henderson and along the Withlacoochee State Trail, this waterfront city park is open from sunrise to sunset daily. The park features a state-of-the-art playground, restroom facilities, dog waste stations, sidewalks, benches, a floating gazebo, parking, and lush landscaping.
Liberty Park also serves as a host site for several popular community events throughout the year, making it a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors.
This park is also home to the Inverness 9-11 Memorial. The memorial was dedicated on October 22, 2011, and was made possible through donations and support from local citizens.
