This clinic offers instruction to clients in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS), which facilitates phonemic awareness in children with weak phonological processing skills. We also provide assessment and instruction in the use of augmentative communication devices, which are high-technology voice output systems that are used as an alternative means of communication for children with limited verbal communication. For those with low-technology communication needs, we offer instruction in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), which is frequently used with children with special needs to encourage social interaction. American Sign Language is another tool we use to promote communication in pre-verbal children.
