We help children.
When a child receives services at Jessie’s Place, it is with the purpose of alleviating the painful events in their life, and beginning their journey to recovery which allows them to feel like a child again.
Our purpose is to coordinate services and support under one roof from such agencies as local law enforcement, therapists, medical staff, and Department of Children & Families (DCF), thus alleviating the need for multiple interviews by multiple adults in numerous locations.
The children are brought into a caring and child-friendly building with all of the tools, multidisciplinary teams, professionals, and relaxing comfort needed to begin their journey of recovery back to a healthy, happy life.
Our services-
Prevention:
Child Safety Matters and Teen Safety Matters are comprehensive, evidence informed prevention education programs developed with Florida schools to provide age-appropriate curriculum for grades K-12. Our trained facilitators present lessons to educate students and adults about bullying, abuse, healthy relationships, human trafficking and online predatory dangers.
Community Education:
Discussing and learning the facts of childhood abuse helps prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Awareness and educational presentations are provided by Jessie’s Place to increase community members’ knowledge of child maltreatment issues that affect children every day in Citrus County and around the world. Specialized training on topics inclusive of child abuse and neglect, human trafficking, and trauma and resilience are provided to community groups, organizations, and professional associations.
