Rowing Organization of Citrus County Students, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Helps young rowers build a solid foundation of strength, technique, and teamwork, both during the summer and all year round
Middle school rowing:
ROCCS’ Middle School Rowing Program is a great starting point for new rowers aged 12-14. Participants will learn the fundamentals of sculling and sweeping; practice proper boat handling techniques; build physical strength and endurance; and hone valuable teamwork and cooperation skills.
Middle School rowers will also have the opportunity to participate in several Regattas throughout each season; our ultimate hope is to train them to compete in the more competitive High School program. However, at this stage, our primary goals are building a solid foundation and, most importantly, a love for rowing!
High school rowing:
Our High School Rowing Program is designed to helps student athletes fine-tune their skills and technique in order to compete at Regional and State-level events throughout the year. Training occurs both on land and on the water, and students are able to take advantage of our premier training facilities and equipment.
We aim to help our rowers achieve any athletic or academic goals they set for themselves. Many of our students have gone on to row at the collegiate and national levels, and have proudly accepted rowing scholarships to various universities. And, win or lose, even participating in rowing can set a college application apart from the rest!
