Swim lessons with Ms. Dana are focused on teaching your child how to be safe in and near the water. The priority is to teach safe, age appropriate, swimming practices and to avoid the reliance on artificial flotation devices (with the exception of a USCG approved life vest for open/unpredictable water.) Toys and games are often offered to help your child with engagement but the lesson will remain focused on skill building and practice. While I love to see smiles and hear laughing from each child that I work with, the honest answer is that some children will be emotional at times, and that's okay! I will do my best to work through the big feelings and at the end of your child's session, they will amaze you with their ability to self-rescue in the water!
Please feel free to reach out to set an appointment to see the pool area and for a meet & greet!
In addition to getting to watch children learn and execute their survival swim skills, one of the absolute best and most rewarding things to see, is the confidence that kids develop during their lessons. It's common for children to be hesitant when first developing their skills and while they get to know me, but before long, they are showing confidence in themselves as they learn to swim-float-swim!
