Try Mermaid Course (6 and up):
Have you always wanted to swim like a mermaid, but not sure if you’re ready for the full SSI Mermaid courses? Or perhaps you and your child want to experience the magical world of mermaiding together, but they’re too young to qualify for the SSI mermaid course offerings. Look no further than the Try Mermaid course offered by Crystal River Watersports! Experience swimming in a monofin and tail as you embark on your mermaiding journey. Recognized by the SSI as the introduction to becoming a mermaid or merman, it’s a great way to get your proverbial fins wet starting in a confined water setting to allow you to build a positive experience and learn the basics before you explore more mermaid options.

The SSI Try Mermaid program is your introduction to the world of mermaids and mermen and to swimming with a mermaid monofin. This entry-level program gives you the opportunity to experience the underwater world in a confined water setting. You will earn the SSI Try Mermaid recognition rating.

SSI Mermaid Certification Courses (12 and up):
From starting out with the basic mermaid certification to building on your skills and becoming an ocean mermaid, or the ultimate mermaid modeling course, Crystal River Watersports offers the training and courses you need! You complete your certifications with an SSI Mermaid instructor to ensure that you are learning all of the required skills and are comfortable and safe swimming with a mermaid tail.

Manatees & Mermaids: Fantasy and Fun for the Entire Family!
Can’t decide between a manatee tour or a mermaid course? You don’t have to choose – you can do both together with our Manatees & Mermaids package. Fun for family and friends of all ages, it’s the perfect opportunity to swim with the manatees, as well as learn to be a mermaid! Our private experience for up to 6 people from ages 6+ is a great way to experience Crystal River with us.
