Join us for a family friendly evening of nocturnal exploration at Chinsegut WEA! We’ll start at the conservation center with a 15-minute presentation on creatures of the night, then once the sun sets, we’ll watch the bats leave the bat boxes. After watching the bats emerge, we’ll journey to May’s Prairie where we’ll listen to the sounds of the night from the boardwalk. All the while we’ll be on the lookout for nocturnal creatures using a small selection of specialized flashlights provided by the center.
The hike is moderate, over uneven terrain and unpaved trails in the dark. A limited number of infrared flashlights will be available for participants to use. Bug spray is recommended. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
**Spots are limited and registration is required (click on 'Register' above to begin).
