Please join us as Not A Clue Adventures offers a one day Backpacking 101 class at Chinsegut Conservation Center. The class is $20 per person, and you must register through the Not A Clue Adventures website at the following link: Booking Backpacking 101 1 Day Workshop for 3/30/24 - Not A Clue Adventures (fareharbor.com)
This one-day class will give a basic introduction to backpacking. The topics that will be covered include planning tips, gear review, choosing your meals, understanding your fitness level, and understanding the basic skills needed. They will review gear lists and basic first aid kits, give tips to organize your backpack and review Leave No Trace Principles.
Please bring a refillable water bottle and a bag lunch as we will be taking a break for lunch and there will not be time to go off property. If you have your own pack, please feel free to bring that too. This is a great opportunity to test out your gear. If there is rain in the forecast, please bring a poncho/rain gear. We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking and bringing a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray.
After lunch, we will practice packing up equipment and take a short hike.
