The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum presents an event to Celebrate Equality in School with a lesson on Character, Courage, and Kindness for Kids!
In this program, kids will learn:
The story of Ruby Bridges and her heroic walk to school during desegregation.
The importance of being kind to everyone, bravery, and some basics on spotting a bully.
Character matters. Matching our good words with good deeds.
Please preregister. Call to sign up.
Parents and accompanying adults must supervise children for the duration of the visit. Recommended for kids ages 5 and up.
As schools open this Fall, we'll host a local Citrus County exhibit showcasing stories of heroic Black teachers, principals, and students before, during, and after desegregation. Make time to see the display during your visit!
