Celebrate “Pirates & Mermaids” during Florida 250 with a look at the quirky Old Florida charm of Weeki Wachee. This engaging program explores how a local swimming spot became a beloved roadside attraction—and eventually a state park—while keeping one magical tradition alive: its world-famous mermaid performances.

Entertaining audiences since 1947, the springs feature crystal-clear 72-degree water year-round—now that’s refreshing!

Join historian and archivist Rebecca Schwandt for a deep dive into 75 years of history, heritage, and hometown pride. Ms. Schwandt brings with her a special guest -- Legendary Siren Rita King -- who will share her memories and experiences from beneath the surface.
