Join us in celebrating Take a Hike Day at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park, designed not only to spark your sense of adventure but to also enjoy the mental and physical health benefits of hiking. After checking in at the Starkey Environmental Education Center, participants will explore the trails, get their heart pumping with every step, and take in the beauty of Florida in the fall. After completing the chosen hike option, participants will receive a prize for celebrating Take a Hike Day with us!

Self-Guided Hike Check-In:
Begins at 9:00am and the hike must be completed by 1:00pm to collect your prize!
Guided Hike Check-In:
Begins 30 minutes prior to your hike start time to allow time to sign participation waivers. Participants must be checked in 10 minutes prior to the hike start time as we will begin promptly. Prizes will be handed out after the hike!
Pre-registration is required for all hike options.
Participants will NOT be able to register at the event.
All participants choosing a guided hike may only register for one time slot.
Any participant under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Parent/guardian must remain with their child for the entirety of the program.
We will meet at the Starkey Environmental Education Center.
It is recommended to bring water, bug spray, hat, and sunscreen.
The unpaved trails are uneven and may not be suitable for strollers.
Program subject to cancellation, an email notice will be sent out in the event of cancellation.
No pets, please.
