Lu the Hippos 65th Birthday Celebration at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will host a special celebration for Lu the Hippopotamus’ 65th birthday.
Park staff will present Lu with his specially made birthday cake.
The state park has partnered with Florida-based company The Hyppo for refreshing seasonal popsicles to enjoy during the celebration. The Hyppo makes delightful all-natural ice pops from everything under the sun, using only the freshest fruit they can find. Popsicles will be served at the presentation and are on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
Regular park admission will apply for this event.
All visitors must park and pay at the Visitor Center on US19 and take the boat or tram over to the West Entrance. Parking is not available at the West Entrance on Fishbowl.
Park admission fees:
Adults- $13
Children (6-12)- $5
Children 5 and under- Free
Tram service is complimentary and included in Park admission. Trams can be picked up from either the Visitor Center or the West Entrance for transportation between both locations.
